Men in the Kitchen

While some men are great in the kitchen, I know a lot of men who feel stress, anxiety, and near panic attacks when it comes time to cook for their wife or family.  Sad to say it but I'm the latter kind of cook (OK, I'm exaggerating the panic attacks). My wife is amused and baffled at how I look in the kitchen and how the kitchen looks when I'm done with it.  Half the stress is from figuring out what to cook with around five ingredients or less.  The other half is looking for the ingredients I need at the last minute.  And the other half is timing it to put it all on the table at the same time.  Notice how that adds up to 150% stress?  I'm not the only guy who can relate to this man in the kitchen:

Whether you're an Iron Chef in the kitchen or an Idiot Chef, make it a point to cook meals for your beloved.  They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but women love food too.  Polls show that women find it sexy when a guy cooks for them (and even sexier when he cleans up the kitchen too).  Don't forget that working women still do the overwhelming majority of housework, cooking and a long list of other things for the home life.  Mix some love in with your cooking and follow it with a relaxed conversation over dinner.  Studies show that couples that regularly eat dinner together have better communication, feel more connected and are generally happier.  And their children are more secure and well adjusted too.

Don't own a cookbook?  You don't need one. Here are some easy recipes from the Food Network's Emeril (BAM!), Rachael Ray and more:  http://www.foodnetwork.com/quick-and-easy/index.html  Just print, shop and cook it.

And never forget how easy it is to throw nearly anything on the grill out back.  For BBQ ideas: http://www.recipe.com/recipes/grilling/ and http://www.marthastewart.com/275631/easy-grilling-recipes-from-everyday-food.  Got an easy recipe to share with other men?  Hit reply and fill us in on it.  And don't forget some ambiance ideas (candles, music, a table set up in the back yard).  Don't just serve up the food...add some ambiance while you're at it.  Women love ambiance.  Even if your food isn't the best, remember that the way to a woman's heart is also through ambience.
